Storm Again

Here are the last couple of photos of Storm. I wasn’t going to put up any more of her but I just thought they were so cute.

Ruby

This is the very cute Ruby. She was only a week old when I took these photos of her and she was such a great baby. She slept beautiful and let me do whatever I wanted once she’d had a feed and had a nice full tummy.

I can’t decide between the original shot or the desaturated. I think the desaturated looks kinda cool because of the wooden box and the old feel it gives it but I like the saturated one as well with all the colour to it.

What do you think? To saturate or not to saturate?

Roxy and my allergies

I don’t usually post this sort of thing but today I felt like doing something a bit different for me.

Recently I have had to rehouse our beloved cat Roxy and my daughter’s pet rat Penny due to severe allergies. It is ridiculous to think that I have suffered from allergies all of my life but have only recently had allergy testing done and found out that I am allergic to cat’s, dog’s, feather mix (goose, duck & chicken), mould and the rat, plus what I had always know which was grass and pollen.

How strange that as a child I was constantly at the doctors about this and was one of the first children to be put on numerous different medications that had only just come out, as a bit of a guinea pig but no one ever suggested allergy testing.

I have to say I was extremely upset when I found out that I had these other allergies and hadn’t know for all this time. It was really hard knowing that the major cause of my allergies, which was my cat could have been avoided for such a long time and would have saved me a lot of tears, pain, frustration and just generally feeling like crap constantly. I decided to stop feeling sorry for myself and just be grateful that at least had found out.

We ended up deciding that we would have to find Roxy a new home after doing a few tests to check that it was in fact her causing me the worst problems. It was terrible to have to say goodbye to her, I thought I was fine and couldn’t figure out why I was crying or felt like crying all the time for days, and then I realised why.

I am really pleased to be able to say that even though it was horrible and I felt like the worst mother in the world (there’s nothing more heartbreaking than your kids crying their eyes out because of a problem that you have) we were able to find great new homes for Penny the Rat and Roxy our cat. Thank goodness that it has made a HUGE difference already to how I feel, it’s unbelievable really.

I was updating my family photos and came across this shot of  Roxy and so I thought I’d edit it and do a post on my blog and write about what happened to me.
