What is photogenic?

I just love this photo of my daughter. It is now my most favourite shot of her. She is such a great model for me, she’s just so natural and relaxed. I don’t think I really have many bad photos of her at all. It sux because I am so not photogenic and my husband and daughter are, lucky things.

You know some people are just good in front of a camera, I’m not sure if it’s confidence or what it is that makes a person photogenic. Photogenic doesn’t even mean that you are drop dead gorgeous, it’s just something that you have, for some reason that means that you look good in photos.

What do you think it is that makes a person photogenic?

This is the very cute Ruby. She was only a week old when I took these photos of her and she was such a great baby. She slept beautiful and let me do whatever I wanted once she’d had a feed and had a nice full tummy.

I can’t decide between the original shot or the desaturated. I think the desaturated looks kinda cool because of the wooden box and the old feel it gives it but I like the saturated one as well with all the colour to it.

What do you think? To saturate or not to saturate?

More Photos of Baby Storm

Here are some more photos of the very cute Storm.

Baby Storm

Here are a couple of photo’s of a baby session with a little bub called Storm. She is such a little cutie pie. Her poor mum was so worried that she was being terrible and I honestly didn’t think she was being bad at all, she was just a bit tired.

You know it’s funny, as a parent you don’t want other people to think ill of your child. We get so worried that our kids are misbehaving or being terrible and we think that everyone doesn’t like them or thinks they’re naughty when in fact they’re just being kids.

I think really it’s our own insecurities coming to the surface and maybe it’s a sign that we need to take a look at ourselves. Being a parent certainly teaches you a lot of things, especially about yourself.

Anyway let me know what you think about the very cute Storm.

Her is a sneak peak of baby Kasjana. She was 14 days old when I did these photo’s and she is so tiny. She was only 5 pound 7 ounces when born and hadn’t put on a lot of weight when we did her session so she was just tiny. She is a little wiggle worm and didn’t want to play the game, but good things come to those who wait and in the end I think I got some beautiful photos of her.

Here are some storyboard designs that I have done of her as well.

The Little Man

Here are some shots from the same day that I did the photo’s of Izzy. Her Mum’s friend and her baby. Apart from getting upset because he was hungry he was great to shoot, very bright and bubbly once that tummy was full.

Izzy’s Sneak Peak

This is a sneak peak of a gorgeous little bub that I did some photo’s of when she was a newborn and now again at 3 months old. She is such a little cutie and it’s always fun with her and her Mum and Dad.

Here  are some storyboard designs that I did as well.

My Son

Here is one of my favourite shots of my son. I shot this down on the South side of Cottesloe in all the rocks that are there. This shot was also taken not that long after I’d gotten my camera. My son is much harder to shoot than my daughter as he tends to try too hard to get his face just right but this one was great because I managed to get him when he wasn’t taking a lot of notice. At the time he also had a plate in and half braces so I suppose that didn’t help either.

My First Ever Photo

Hi Everyone,

Even though this isn’t a new shot I wanted to post a couple of my kids. This was actually one of the very first photo’s that I took with the Canon 5D MArk 11. I was sooooo excited that I had taken it out of the box, so I decided to check out some of my lenses and then had a play and got this gorgeous photo of my daughter. This is still one of my most favourite shots of her that I’ve ever taken. I don’t know what it is about it that I like so much but I just do.
