Easter Dwellingup

This photo was taken down in Dwellingup as well.

This is a spot where we love to go camping. The camp ground is on a river and it has a section that we call the rapids. They’re aren’t really big rapids or anything like that but the kids think it’s fun to go down “The Rapids.” It depends on whether there is a lot of water or not as to what photo’s you can get there, if the water is flowing heaps and the water level is high you get shots like this one, if the water is low you can get lot’s of little waterfall type shots.

It’s really cool to have the variety and you don’t know what your going to get until you get there. It’s a surprise every time.

Woodman Point Sunset 2nd Edition

I posted a shot of Woodman Point quite a while ago and I thought it was awesome. Somehow I overlooked this one which I think is heaps better so I thought why not post it, so here it is.

The Pinnacles Funny Face

There are so many cool looking Pinnacles. You have ones that just look like big rocks, some like dinosaurs and some like my funny face Pinnacle. It’s so much fun looking at all of the different shapes, sizes, faces and all sorts, you can just keep shooting and shooting and you just don’t get bored.

I love this photo, I think it looks like a really cool one eyed face.

Fortescue Falls Karijini

These photos were taken at Fortescue Falls in Karijini National Park. We camped near here and so we went down everyday to the falls as well as to another area not far away which is called Fern Pool. These are all in Dales Gorge, which so far is my favourite gorge at Karijini, although I did miss one so next time we’ll see if it stays my favourite.

I can’t decide between the crops of this photo so I thought I’d post the original shot and then a crop from the top to get rid of the trees and also one that has still kept the aspect ration but it means that it comes in pretty tight on the sides of the waterfall.

Let me know what you think looks best, I can’t decide. I’m thinking the crop from the top so I keep the whole waterfall but I’m not sure if it looks too wide.

Karijini Panoramic

I haven’t really done any panoramic shots and actually finished putting them together and showed anyone yet so here goes. This was taken up in Karijini Western Australia. It’s such an amazing place and I can’t wait to go up there again and actually get in a huge amount of shooting. When I went last time I really didn’t have a lot of opportunity to be able to take my camera so next time look out.

I think that next time I’d like to have a go with a panoramic the same as this but maybe use my 85mm so that I can get in a bit more of the background. Once you see it come together it gives you a bit more perspective.

What do you think?

Green Head Coast

Last Easter we went up to a place called Green Head with my cousins and our families had a great time. I’d forgotten about the few photos that I’d taken and I just found this so I thought I’d show you all.

There’s not much there really to do or to take photos of but I think this one came up alright.

Another shot from Matilda Bay

This is another shot from Matilda Bay. I wanted to get something in the foreground but there isn’t a lot to choose from so I decided to try it out with one of the trees on the foreshore. I think it turned out pretty good.

Let me know what you think.

Bennion Beach WA

I decided to head out today as I haven’t been out and done any new landscapes for a while. The clouds were looking alright so I thought I’d get a half descent sunset but no, it was a shocker. Anyway I decided to stay and have a crack and this is one of the shots that I got, I think it’s turned out pretty good.

Let me know what you think?

The Pinnacles

This is one of my many shots from the girls road trip that I did with my daughter quite some time ago. I wanted to go up there to have a look at The Pinnacles as I’d never seen them before but no one else wanted to come so my daughter who was only 7 at the time and I decided we’d go together.

I had never driven by myself with my bunky little caravan and when we left it was night time and pouring down with rain, but I would not be put off, I was determined. So off we went and drove the 3 hours to get there, but it was great and it started off my obsession with wanted to drive EVERYWHERE. There is no where that I don’t want to go anymore, I want to pack up every weekend and go somewhere different. If I could I would get a bus and just pack up and travel all around Australia with my family taking photos and letting my kids see all of the amazing things that are in this country and have the adventure of a lifetime.

Oh we can only dream.

The pinnacles are a bit of a natural wonder, they are limestone but there is great debate as to how they were actually formed. It is an amazing place and there are so many Pinnacles it’s just not funny. Tall ones, skinny one, piles of ones, some of them even look like they have faces. I think they’re pretty cool and you can have a field day with the different compositions. I am on a mission to finish off all off all of the photos that I really like, there are so many.

Anyway I hope you all enjoy and let me know if you’d like to see some more.

Matilda Bay Clouds

Here is a photo I took at Matilda Bay one evening as the sun was going down. The clouds were so awesome but it was quite difficult to get a good composition as I was trying to get the double pontoon type jetties that are in the bay. In the end I decided that it wasn’t working and went with this simple shot with only a few of the boats in the foreground.

Let me know what you all think.
