I took this shot while I was out with the fab Jamie Patterson. I had a great time out shooting with him. It was one of my first shoots with someone else and it was also my first bulb shot. I think it came up great and I know it’s pretty dark but I just like it.
What do you guys think?
Agree with your assessment. did you crop the image or is that the dimensions from your camera?

I cropped the bottom just a bit to make it a little stronger. There was a little too much plain sand.

Like lots! I am going to have to get out of my land-locked little ‘shire’ 🙂

Thanks a mil. Yes I’m very lucky I am not too far from the beach which I love, but I’d love to do more landscapes with rollings hills and country side. I have to drive quite far to get those sort of shots.

Really nice — bulb shots can be fun. Nothing wrong with a darker image. Good work.

Hi Dan. thanks alot. Yeh I find bulb shooting great fun to do now. I like darker images too, sometimes not everyone else does, but hey each to their own right?

Great Andrea. I like that the image isn’t saturated it only has a hint of colour – really draws you in. Sometimes it isn’t always about colour.

Impressive! Almost has a biblical feel to it, like Someone’s about to speak…

You have movement and stillness in this photo which combines really well. I’ve used bulb shots for middle of the night work and I’ve been quite pleased with what I’ve achieved. You’ve done really well here.

Thanks for letting me camp out in your blog today. I love your work, had a great time, and tried to leave my campsite as clean as when I arrived.
